OnePlus and Oppo merged their workforces and many of their philosophies in the last year. The former left its “Never Settle” motto to follow some of Oppo’s pretty established standards. This year, we’re seeing OnePlus adopting a rebrand policy, and now it’s bringing back an Oppo lineup. In the past, we saw the Oppo Reno Ace series, now it belongs to OnePlus. The company will introduce the OnePlus Ace on April 21 in China. Apparently, the device will be a rebranded Realme GT Neo 3. Therefore, we are looking into the Chinese version of the upcoming OnePlus 10R. The 10R will be available in the Indian market on April 28 alongside the OnePlus CE 2 Lite which is also a rebranded device.
After speculation and an official teaser, OnePlus has finally scheduled the launch date for the upcoming smartphone. The company confirmed through its Weibo handle that the OnePlus Ace will be revealed as soon as in the next week, on April 21st. The company already teased the phone’s triple camera setup. It boasts a rectangular camera island with a big camera at the top and two smaller units sitting below, side by side. The design falls in line with the recently-released Realme GT Neo 3. However, we’re expecting OnePlus to bring some differences in the colors. In fact, the back is split by grooves on the left side. The GT Neo 3 has an exclusive Le Mans colorways, and we’re sure it will continue being exclusive. The teaser already confirms a black and a silver colorway. The software won’t be so different, after all, the device may run ColorOS 12.1 just like other OnePlus smartphones in China.
The images also serve to confirm an IR Sensor on top, and a USB Type C port at the bottom of the phone. Unfortunately, none of the teasers has confirmed the display details. However, we’re going to assume it has a 6.7-inch panel with a punch-hole at the top center of the display.
OnePlus Ace’s alleged specifications
The OnePlus Ace will likely bring an AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The device’s triple camera setup at the back consists of a 50 MP Sony IMX766 snapper, an 8 MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2 MP macro snapper. The device will bring a 4,500 mAh battery with 80 W fast charging. Under the hood, we can expect the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 to set the cards.
