The very top level is tough. Pitso Mosimane, also known as “Jingles” has attempted to revive the spirits of Al Ahly fans and the African continent after a major loss in the FIFA Club World.

PITSO MOSIMANE’S MESSAGE TO AL AHLY AND AFRICA

As The South African reported on Wednesday, the Egyptian giants fell 2-0 to Brazil’s Palmeiras in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final in the UAE on Tuesday night.

With a third-fourth place now coming up against either Chelsea or Al Hilal, what has Pitso Mosimane has to say to his club’s fans and the continent?

“We will be fighting for another medal for Africa, and we will do our best to win the CAF Champions League in order to return to the Club World Cup,” said the Kagiso-born coach as quoted by KingFut.

Meanwhile, Pitso Mosimane’s former side Sundowns do not seem to be missing him much. The DStv Premiership champions could win the 2021/22 title in record time.

Kaizer Chiefs legend Neil Tovey believes there’s no catching Mamelodi Sundowns at the summit of the DStv Premiership.

The 2016 CAF Champions League holders are 17 points ahead at the top of the division, Pirates in second place could still earn 33 while the fourth-placed Kaizer Chiefs have 36 points to play for, yet Tovey is confident it is all over for the Soweto giants.

“Another three points tonight [Monday against Chippa United], will practically mean they’ve won the league,” Tovey said as quoted by KickOff.

“Actually they’ve already clinched the league title a long time ago. It doesn’t matter tonight whether they win or lose, they will still win the title.

“They should start concentrating on the Champions League now,” concluded the former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana skipper who won the league as a co-coach with Sundowns in 2005/6.
