Orlando Pirates legend set to leave the club
Orlando Pirates have confirmed that one of their Bucs legends will be leaving the club when his contract ends.

Pirates legend Wayne Sandilands is set to leave Pirates and at the end of the current season.
The Bucs goalkeeper will not be extending his contract and is set to retire from the club and football as a whole.

“His contract will definitely not be renewed this time. There is already a search to bring on board a goalkeeper at the club,”
I mean, he is 38-years-old. He has been wanting to retire for some time now, it’s just that there were lots of things happening at the club with goalkeepers getting injured and not being able to find a suitable replacement,” said a source on Phakaaati.

Pirates have Richard Ofori who is making his return after being sidelined for several months.
Sandilands was ready to retire last season but extended his stay at the club. As a veteran and leader he provided experience to young up-and-coming players and a wise head as backup in goal.

Now, Pirates are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper with Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams linked to the club.
However, with his SuperSport United contract only ending in 2023, the Buccaneers will have to dig very deep into their pockets.
