A petition by fans to have Stuart Baxter removed as Kaizer Chiefs coach is gaining support among the Amakhosi faithful.

The Glamour Boys have sacked their last three managers before the end of the season.

Time is seemingly something that a coach in charge of South Africa’s most well-supported team is not afforded.

Stuart Baxter under fire at Kaizer Chiefs

Baxter’s return to the club was greeted with mixed sentiments.

Some fans pointed out that Baxter was the last man to guide Kaizer Chiefs to the league title.

However, on the flip side of that coin many believe that the rot started under Baxter and subsequent coaches have been unable to turn it around.

Baxter’s return has not filled anyone with confidence.

While the team has occasionally clicked, the expensively assembled group are underperforming by almost any metric.

Is it muti? Chiefs beset by injury, illness and misfortune

Kaizer Chiefs sit 19 points adrift of defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who look set to canter to another title.

A faction of supporters are calling for the club to be placed in the hands of long-time member of the technical team Arthur Zwane.

Zwane impresses every time he is asked to stand in for Baxter which hasn’t helped the Englishman’s case.

Following the club’s goalless draw against Cape Town City on Tuesday, a petition called ‘Baxter had his chance’ has been started and has lready gained over 1400 signatures.

Part of the petition reads: “As Kaizer Chiefs supporters we are tired our health is being affected. We love Kaizer Chiefs and it hurts seeing us in this state. We really need to start playing football with the hope of dominating games.

“All we want is for you to give Arthur Zwane and Dillion Sheppard a chance to start preparing for the following season the introducing of Youngsters will be better.”
