Kaizer Chiefs’ Baxter reveals Nkosingiphile Ngcobo bad and good news

Gather around Kaizer Chiefs fans. As it is always advised, let’s start with the bad news and then share the good news.
KAIZER CHIEFS COACH STUART BAXTER CONFIRMS NKOSINGIPHILE NGCOBO ILLNESS
As The South African reported in Tuesday night’s team news, Amakhosi went to the Green Point to battle Cape Town City without Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
As expected, fans were not pleased and answers had to be offered by coach Stuart Baxter.
“Mshini (Ngcobo) has got a bacterial infection, so he couldn’t play,” Baxter said via Soccer Laduma.
Switching to the good news, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is set to realise his Kaizer Chiefs dream of becoming the club’s creative star player.
Stuart Baxter has confirmed that he has created an exclusive number 10 role for the Pietermaritzburg-born star.
“We’ve sort of created a role for Mshini because he has been doing so well in that little No.10 in the pocket role,” the coach added.

SUNDOWNS SPENT OVER R40 MILLION
In other news, the Amakhosi tactician recently emphasised Mamelodi Sundowns’ market dominance in the transfer window.
After largely dominating the first half of the DStv Premiership with just one loss from 19 games, the Pretoria club terrified the Soweto giants by going on to add even more top talent in January.
Sundowns signed Surprise Ralani from Cape Town City, Teboho Mokoena from SuperSport United, and Erwin Saavedra from Club Bolivar.
According to Kaizer Chiefs coach Baxter, Amakhosi can’t launch a direct fight against such spending power.
“We will compete with them (Sundowns) but when they have spent over R40 million in this window I don’t think if we go and open a direct fight…if it is a question of who is going to put the most cash out, I’m sure that Sundowns have an advantage over most teams and not just Kaizer Chiefs,” Baxter said via Kick Off.
“What I said is that we won’t add players to the squad unless it is value for money. Unless we think we are paying the chairman’s hard-earned money and we are getting a player that will strengthen the squad
Meanwhile, Ngcobo is expected to be back for Amakhosi away at Baroka FC this Saturday in a DStv Premiership clash. Read the full story here.
