2022 Oscars: ‘The Power of the Dog’ leads with 12 nominations

The nominees for the 2022 Oscars were announced on Tuesday 8 February by American actors Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan. Jane Campion’s Western drama, The Power of the Dog, leads the pack with 12 nominations. The film received nods in the Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay categories amongst others.

For the first time ever, the Oscars have chosen 10 feature films as part of the Best Picture category. American actress Kristen Stewart earned her first Oscar nomination for her performance as Princess Diana in Spencer while Will Smith has landed his third nomination at the Oscars.

The 2022 Oscars are set to take place on 26 March 2022.
